Solo day at Keystone with 19” of fresh powder. This was the day those epic lift lines photos were taken at Vail. Although the powder was awesome, the lift lines were not. I was only able to make 4 runs in 2 hours due to the lines. The deep snow paired with wind gusts up to 60 mph resulted in a lot of terrain being closed for avalanche mitigation. Lifts were running slower than usual due to wind and gondolas were not running at all. I rode only 7,618 vertical feet (7 miles skied) before I called it quits – the lines and increasing crowds and winds weren’t worth the limited terrain that was open. Still, quite the experience. Top speed: 38 mph.
